OVERVIEW PENCH TIGER SAFARI TOUR
Pench National Park is the setting for the Jungle Book. Within two and a half hours of Nagpur City, in the area of Seoni (formerly Seonee, where Mowgli was born), is this crucial reserve.
The creation of tiger migration corridors connecting Bor Wildlife Sanctuary, Nagzira, and Kanha National Park has allowed Pench to gradually reclaim its standing as one of India's best tiger sanctuaries for tiger safaris.
Although the majority of this Tiger Reserve is in Madhya Pradesh, it is scattered across 2000 sq km across the states of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. In addition to having one of India's largest numbers of spotted deer, Pench is home to wildlife like the Indian leopard and the Dhol, or Indian wild dog, which carefully avoid encountering the 80-odd tigers that roam the area. With expansive grasslands now extending as far as the eye can reach amidst the gently sloping hills that are stunning immediately following the monsoons, this area shows traces of big settlements that were moved in order to restore the grasslands. So on our Pench tiger safari tour and discover this stunning park.
DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in New Delhi
A Tiger Sight representative will be waiting for you in the airport arrival area with a name card
when you arrive at the New Delhi International Airport. The chauffeur will accompany him, and
an air-conditioned SUV will be waiting to transport you to your hotel. Our employees will be
available to help you with a quick check-in procedure when you get at the hotel and will also
supply any paperwork you need for the trip. You will spend the night at the hotel in New Delhi.
Day 2: New Delhi – Nagpur – Pench (Flight + 100 kms/2 hrs drive from the airport)
You will be taken to the airport in the morning to check in for a flight that will leave at 05:55 and
arrive in Nagpur at 07:40 after breakfast, which will be served early. You can check into the
lodge at the Pench National Park Post after a two-hour drive from the airport, where we will
meet you. Following lunch, the travelers might take part in an afternoon jeep safari to continue
their adventure to the national park. The resort offers its visitors lodging for the night as well as
meals.
Day 3 - 4: In Pench National Park
Morning and afternoon jeep safaris to the Pench National Park are planned, and the resort will
host lunches and overnight accommodations. A total of 758 square kilometers are covered by the
tropical dry deciduous teak forest and this tropical wet deciduous forest in Southern India. Only
during specific seasons of the year are most of the region's streams and nallahs active. These
streams cut through the countryside.
Even though the Pench River stops flowing at the end of April, there are still a number of water
pools in the area that are called “dohs” and serve as watering holes for the many wild animals.
During the pinch time, the only significant supply of water is the Pench Reservoir, which is
located in the middle of the park. The watering holes along the Pench River are the greatest
places to watch tigers because there is a significant concentration of prey in that area. This is a
common location for tigers to prowl for their prey. Leopards are typically seen operating in the
more outer sections of the forest, however they can also be spotted in the interior of the forest on
occasion.
In the Pench region, cheetal and sambar are commonly seen grazing in open spaces, such as
along the shorelines of reservoirs, riverbanks, and roadsides. At any time of day, jackals can be
seen wandering about the park looking for food. The Reserve's Chhedia, Jamtara, Bodanala, and
Pyorthadi portions are where packs of up to 15 or more wild dogs can be seen.
It is common to witness herds of gaur among bamboo forests and streams during the summer
months. Sloth bears are usually found on rockier terrain, especially in woods afflicted with
mahul bel. Even though they are extremely rare, Chinkaras can sometimes be found in open,
non-forested areas.
Day 05 : Pench – Nagpur – New Delhi (100 kms/2 hrs drive to the airport + flight)
This morning, take your final game drive to the park. Return to the resort for a brief lunch before
continuing on to Nagpur to catch a flight to New Delhi.
One of our staff will meet you when you arrive in Delhi and help you check in for your
subsequent flight.
