OVERVIEW PENCH AND TADOBA TIGER SAFARI TOUR
TExplore the Jungle Book chapter by taking a tiger safari excursion through the national parks of Pench and Tadoba. Witness the breathtaking sights and the real-life people who served as the inspiration for Rudyard Kipling's well-known fable on this wildlife expedition, which is filled with animals, birds, and plants. Captain James Forsyth, a British officer who lived during the colonial era and saw wildlife coexisting in one of India's best environments, wrote a vivid account of the Central Highlands' panoramic grandeur.
Tigers, sloth bears, leopards, wild dogs, honey badgers, and many other animals are reported to reside in India's two national parks. One might experience a sense of timelessness when participating in a tiger safari in India, which offers stunning vistas of the vast outback.
Tadoba National Park and Pench National Park are two of the simplest places to visit if you have little time and want to see wildlife, especially tigers. These two parks are only a flight and two hours' drive from major airports, in contrast to other sites that need at least five hours of driving or an overnight train trip. Due to their close proximity to Nagpur, these two parks are, nevertheless, avoidable on weekends. Many weekend visitors are drawn to the resorts. However, because there are only a few safari permits available, it has no effect on national parks.
DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in New Delhi
A Tiger Sight representative will be waiting for you in the airport arrival area with a name card
when you arrive at the New Delhi International Airport. The chauffeur will accompany him, and
an air-conditioned SUV will be waiting to transport you to your hotel. Our employees will be
available to help you with a quick check-in procedure when you get at the hotel and will also
supply any paperwork you need for the trip. You will spend the night at the hotel in New Delhi.
Day 02 : New Delhi – Nagpur – Tadoba (Flight + 100 kms/2-3 hrs drive from the airport)
Our representative will accompany you to the domestic airport early in the morning so you may
check in for your journey to Nagpur. A representative will receive you at the airport when you
arrive in Nagpur and transport you to Tadoba National Park. It will just take you 2-3 hours to
drive the 100 kilometers. Make sure to check into your lodge in time for lunch when you arrive.
Your naturalist will accompany you on your first game drive around Tadoba National Park this
afternoon.
One of Maharashtra's first national parks, Tadoba boasts a magnificent tiger population. Bamboo
and teak are its dominant species. It creates a corridor with Pench National Park, allowing tigers
to wander freely in plenty of room.
Day 03 - 05 : In Tadoba National Park
Take the safaris in the morning and afternoon to explore the park. Tadoba is one of the numerous
Project Tiger reserves in India and one of the biggest and oldest national parks in Maharashtra.
For spotted deer, striped hyenas, sloth bears, tigers, and wild cats, the deciduous forests provide
the ideal habitat. Tadoba's dawn is a bustling time of day as the park's daily residents come to
life. Before heading back to your lodge, you will do a complete circuit of Tadoba's habitat
because there is only one main track that runs through the whole park. Take a break and clean
up. Your evening game drive will take place in the park after lunch. Tadoba's nocturnal animals
and birds begin to come to life in the nights. Arrive at your lodge in time for dinner, then spend
the evening as you choose.
Day 06 : Tadoba – Pench (200 kms, 3 hr drive)
Set out for your final early-morning game drive into Tadoba this morning. Come back later in
the morning so you may check out and have breakfast. When you arrive in Pench National Park,
your driver and car will be prepared. It will take you roughly three hours to go the 200 km in
comfort. Go straight to your safari lodge and check in when you arrive in Pench. You are free to
recover and unwind at your lodge for the remainder of the day. Take a nature stroll around the
edge if you'd like, or just sit and listen to the songbirds as the sun sets.
Enjoy dinner at your lodge and a free evening.
Day 07 - 08: In Pench National Park
Morning and afternoon jeep safaris to the Pench National Park are planned, and the resort will
host lunches and overnight accommodations. A total of 758 square kilometers are covered by the
tropical dry deciduous teak forest and this tropical wet deciduous forest in Southern India. Only
during specific seasons of the year are most of the region's streams and nallahs active. These
streams cut through the countryside.
Even though the Pench River stops flowing at the end of April, there are still a number of water
pools in the area that are called “dohs” and serve as watering holes for the many wild animals.
During the pinch time, the only significant supply of water is the Pench Reservoir, which is
located in the middle of the park. The watering holes along the Pench River are the greatest
places to watch tigers because there is a significant concentration of prey in that area. This is a
common location for tigers to prowl for their prey. Leopards are typically seen operating in the
more outer sections of the forest, however they can also be spotted in the interior of the forest on
occasion.
In the Pench region, cheetal and sambar are commonly seen grazing in open spaces, such as
along the shorelines of reservoirs, riverbanks, and roadsides. At any time of day, jackals can be
seen wandering about the park looking for food. The Reserve's Chhedia, Jamtara, Bodanala, and
Pyorthadi portions are where packs of up to 15 or more wild dogs can be seen.
It is common to witness herds of gaur among bamboo forests and streams during the summer
months. Sloth bears are usually found on rockier terrain, especially in woods afflicted with
mahul bel. Even though they are extremely rare, Chinkaras can sometimes be found in open,
non-forested areas.
Day 09 : Pench – Nagpur – New Delhi (100 kms/2 hrs drive to the airport + flight)
This morning, take your final game drive to the park. Return to the resort for a brief lunch before
continuing on to Nagpur to catch a flight to New Delhi.
One of our staff will meet you when you arrive in Delhi and help you check in for your
subsequent flight.
